What I watched…

Repo Men

(2010)

7.4/10

A shit movie review with Gabi: Sherlock Holmes, A Game of Shadows

3/5 Stars

I must say I did enjoy the first one a tad more, probably because Mark Strong was in the movie and I was in London at the time I watched it, in a beautiful theater in Leicester Square. This time I was at the cinema I work in with a fat man sitting next to me making remarks to his chuckling wife about the film as he scoffed his pop corn.

But I actually did enjoy the first rather than the sequel. I thought that this story line was somewhat clunky and the script from the first film was sharper and smoother in it’s narrative and dialogue between the central characters.

The thing about these Sherlock Holmes films that Guy Ritchie directs that bugs me somewhat is that you forget Guy Ritchie directed them. In both of the films I wished for more of the Guy Ritchie style that you have come to know and love so much, especially when it came to characters.

The ending is quite good.

Stand out performance: Robert Downey Jr (and the on screen chemistry between him and Jude Law…hot)
